Sacred Unwinding
Sacred Unwinding is a modality combining intuitive energy work, Fascial release techniques, and Craniosacral Therapies. Sacred Unwinding is delivered through attunement, co-regulation, and nurturing touch with light pressure and movement to release fascial tension by way of intuitive guidance and energetic listening. This work can be used: to feel nurtured, to feel connected, as support for calming the nervous system, to support therapeutic integration work, or to support the release of emotions and traumas stuck in the body at the cellular level. Clients report feeling lighter and more present, having less anxiety and overwhelm, feeling happier and more relaxed, and a release of areas of chronic pain related to emotional trauma.
Craniosacral fascial therapy
Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is a modality that combines Myofascial Release and CranioSacral Therapy (CST). CFT is based on the theory that the Craniosacral System (structures of the brain, spinal cord, and sacrum that gently circulate cerebrospinal fluid) and the Fascial Systems (the membrane/web of connective tissue that surrounds all structures of the body and brain, including the meninges surrounding the brain) are one interconnected system.
CFT is not a manual adjustment or manipulation, but is facilitated motion, working to allow the body its full range of physical and emotional wellness. Together we work to release accumulated fascial strain that occurs after physical and emotional traumas to improve mobility, brain function, facilitate improved flow of cerebrospinal fluid, and support the body’s goal of reaching balance. Parents report improvement of the following concerns after CFT: breastfeeding issues, swallowing issues, difficulty gaining weight, colic, reflux, gas, constipation, poor sleep, general fussiness, stiffness, torticollis, tethered oral tissues, stridor, strabismus, cranial distortion, cranial nerve dysfunction.
Craniosacral therapy
“CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety.” - Upledger Institute International
Clients can expect light touch across the body especially at the head, spine, and sacrum (base of spine). Sessions are guided by the client’s body. Janice listens and responds to the client’s craniosacral rhythm and the client’s body’s inner wisdom.
CST does not include forced movements or adjustments.
Psychosomatic Practitioner
Psychosomatic Practitioners work to support nervous system regulation through somatic techniques, helping bridge the mind-body gap in many talk based therapies. Somatic techniques can be woven into bodywork sessions or scheduled virtually on its own or combined with distance energy work. Techniques include attunement, co-regulation, awareness, movement, and/or breath work and more. Somatic work is client paced according to the client’s comfort. All practices are suggested offerings based on what is showing up as Janice gets to know the client’s nervous system. Somatic work is recommended as an addition to therapy and/or mental health provider care, and is not intended to replace therapy. Janice is not a psychotherapist.
reiki & Intuitive Energy Work
Reiki is a traditionally a Japanese energy work practice where a practitioner connects to universal consciousness, sending universal life force energy, in order to strengthen the life force of the client. Intentions are set by the client and practitioner supporting balance and the body’s innate healing abilities. Clients can expect hovering hands, light touch, light tapping, waving air to move energy, and/or sensations of warmth and relaxation. Some clients relax enough to drift off to sleep. Clients report improvement with: stress, anxiety, pain, sleep, immune system support, recovery from injury, illness, surgery, emotional pain, grief, and more.
Janice practices intuitive energy work, adapted from her Reiki trainings, for all in person sessions.
lactation, oral function, Oral habilitation, Tongue & Lip Tie support
Janice is not currently accepting lactation clients. For clients receiving infant bodywork for oral function concerns, including pre and post tethered oral tissue release procedures, oral habilitation exercises and infant movements are provided for at home work at the client's request. Janice offers collaboration with the client’s other providers (IBCLC, release provider, other bodywork providers, etc.)
